I found kalaki at a time when i was struggling to make sense of my relationships with my surroundings in daily life, this series reflects my experience through these diptychs.
in its opening show, madras art collective’s photography exhibition, a pop-up exhibition by a collective of artists in an apartment near my neighbourhood, kalaki was displayed as an installation of sixteen individual booklets. each booklet featured a pictogram, made with my father, on its cover, forming another layer in connection with the diptych inside.
